Through the centuries alchemists, scientists and entrepreneurs have worked to turn trash into treasure. On the Junk Art Scramble we go a little further and turn trash into art treasures.
Every week, two teams of artists known for their alchemical abilities to create gold from dross, will take a theme and run with it – right to the junkyard! Competing against each other and the clock, they will attempt to complete a work of art that best embodies the song or poem that inspired it. A panel of independent judges will decide which team will take home prizes, including the public display of their finished art piece!
Join host Ed Martinez as he teases, cajoles and questions the artists about their process for turning what other people have thrown away into something those same people would welcome into their homes and put proudly on display.
